n 2008, vodafone had unveiled the ‘Happy to Help’ series during the first season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). With the launch of the second season, Vodafone has given birth to the Zoozoo: a special character created specifically to convey a value added service (VAS) offering in each of the newly released commercials.

What’s interesting is that there are some 25 such commercials planned under this campaign, 10 of which are already on air. The aim is to release approximately one ad a day, to sustain interest till the end of the IPL.

Meher Ramesh’s ‘Billa’ starring Prabhas, Anushka and Namitha in the cast will hit screens on March 20th.

Meher Ramesh’s earlier hit ‘Kanthri’ bought him fame and ‘Billa’ will be his upcoming stylish, action flick. Senior star Krishnam Raju will be seen in a meaty role of a police officer. The crew camped in Malaysia to film spectacular stunt scenes and talkie portions. Meher has also beckoned glamour girl Hansika for a song in the film.

‘Billa’ is a remake of the Tamil film and the script is being made on global standards to Hollywood films. Excluding three songs, the shooting is complete and the release date is expected to be as planned.

‘Mahatma’ is being produced on Golden Lion Productions banner and the actor who had rendered more than forty 100 day hits is keen to make this film a blockbuster. Surya romances Tamanna in ‘Veedokkade’

Mohan Media debuts young talents in ‘Kalavaramaye Madilo’

Starring Kamal Kamaraju of ‘Avakai Briyani’ and Swathi in the lead cast, Mohan Vadlapatla is producing the film ‘Kalavaramaye Madilo’ on Mohan Media Creations banner. Directed by Satish, the film also stars Vikram Gokhale, Tanikella Bharani, JayaSudha in the prominent cast.

Coming from a prestigious family background, Suman, grandson of Akkineni Nageswara Rao and nephew of star actor Akkineni Nagarjuna stepped into Telugu industry a decade back and is on his way to make a mark in the lines of his elders.

Deepa Chandar redesigns 'Arundhathi' for Bollywood

Sensational hit film ‘Arundhathi’ was made possible by a hard working team which also comprised Deepa Chandar. The three lead characters Aghora, Jejamma and Fakeer bought life for the movie and impressed the audience greatly.

Standing true to the proverb ‘No pain No gain’, Deepa burnt her midnight oil by working for over two and a half months to design the characters. Being a historical film, she did extensive research on appearances and costumes used in the olden age. She studied portraits and pictures of princesses hailing from royal families of Hyderabad. Even the saree worn by Jejamma is completely handmade and crafted to perfection.

Before envisaging Aghora, hundreds of old photographs from Haridwar were analyzed. The role of Fakeer is more Sadhu like for which she toured different villages and browsed several images to churn out the character. Her dedicated work paid off bringing in accolades after ‘Arundhathi’ got released.

Now, plans are on to make a Bollywood version of ‘Arundhathi’ and Deepa Chandar has once again been assigned the task of character design by producer Shyam Prasad Reddy.

NTR’s Grand Tour Starts March 12

Junior NTR will be undertaking a grand tour of AP that starts on 12th March. The starting point will be the Ichchapuram of Srikakulam District which was formally announced by him on Sunday.

In the path laid by his grandfather Sri NTR, Junior will begin this whirlwind tour starting from Ichchapuram driven by pure sentiment. With a view to cover the entire state at a stretch, he met the leaders of his fans’ association at his office and briefed them about the itinerary after the start date got confirmed. He also urged them to be prepared as he plans to work tirelessly throughout for promotional activities till elections.

All the shooting schedules will be done before 10th March after which he will board a special helicopter to reach Gudivada on 11th March. The next day he will offer ablution for the statue of Senior NTR. Then, the tour will be continued from Ichchapuram throughout AP.

The locales planned include Vijayanagaram, Visakha, E.Godavari, W.Godavari and then bypassing Telangana, Mahaboobnagar followed by Karnool and Rayalaseema. Later, he will start from Chitoor to the coastal AP covering Krishna district. The end point will most probably be Gudivada or Gannavaram.

Erstwhile associate of big time director SS Rajamouli, J Karunakumar is making the film as an entertaining flick in his mentor’s style. NTR is busy shooting for his upcoming film sharing screen space with Nayanthara. Popular director VV Vinayak is making the film which is being produced by Vallabhaneni Vamsi. The melodramatic love story ‘Naa Girlfriend Baaga Rich’ starring Shivaji, Kaveri Jha is getting released on February 20th. M. Nagendra Kumar has directed the film and Kumar Brothers has produced it on KBC Cinema banner.

Ready to hit the screens shortly, the plot is said to be a mirrored image of the current generation youngsters and their perception towards ritualistic customs. Their emotional take towards prominent things like love and marriage is said to be portrayed on screen. Brahmanandam, the Padmashri award winner has been entrusted with the job of tickling the funny bone of the audience. For spicy elements, the heroines’ costumes have been designed on a shoe string budget for the glamour quotient. These two aspects are being said to be the USP of the movie.

Nayantara is now in the safe zone as the Tamil Film Producers Council and the South India Film Actors Association has issued the green card today on 7th February. She was earlier condemned with a red card by the associations for not returning the advance amount paid to her for 'Paiya'.

Following several controversies, the actress finally returned the amount today to one of the director of Thriupati Bros Film Media Ltd, Subash Chandrabose. After a joint meet, the issue was settled in am amicable manner. The associations held a brief talk and issued a green card for Nayantara withdrawing the ban, letting her act in Tamil movies once again.

For now, Nayantara is completely out of trouble. Rather than going head over heels, it will be advisable if the actress concentrates more on her job than the remunerations.

Shivaji’s '18, 20 Love Story' coming up

Starring Shivaji and Shraddha Das in the lead cast, Radhakrishna is directing the film titled ’18, 20 Love Story’. The film will be produced by T.Nageswara Rao and Koppula Ramesh along with Shivaji in a joint venture.

After completing two schedules in Hyderabad, and one in the locales of Anakapalli, the crew has completed the entire talkie portions. The plot is about a local goon Shivaji who later falls in love with a girl and changes for good.

The music album consists of a total of five songs out of which three has been filmed in Bangkok and the rest in Hyderabad. At present, post-production work is under progress nearing completion.

The makers are planning to launch the audio in coming week and release the film by the end of this month.

AB Murali has composed the musical score and G Sivakumar has cranked the camera. Story, screenplay, dialogues and direction is by Radhakrishna.

Other important artists in the film are Manoj, Rinil, MS Narayana, Vinod Kumar, Chinna, Pragathi, Jhansi among others.

'Police Police' to hit screens by Feb

Starring Sriram, Prithvi Raj as heroes, Kamilini Muherjee, Sanjana as heroines, 'Police Police' directed by Manmohan is being produced by Chandu on Pinacle Pictures Pvt Ltd banner. The post-production works are in progress now.

In the final stages of making, the cast and crew of ‘Police Police’ met the press for a meet. Speaking to the media, Prithvi Raj said, “I was introduced to director Manmohan by Sriram. When I listened to the story I was impressed with the plot and Okayed the project. I am happy to work in Telugu.”

Director Manmohan said that the entire movie is a different perspective view over the life of cops and doesn’t deal with the satirical issues done in previous flicks.

Producer Chandu is busy working round the work to release the film by the end of this month. The makers are relying high hopes on the film to bring them recognition and become a super hit.

After a long wait of three years came ‘Arundhathi’ amidst great expectations and fan following. Starring Anushka in the title role, Kodi Ramakrishna directed the film and M. Shyam Prasad Reddy on Mallemala Entertainments banner.

Being late doesn’t matter but only quality does is a universal saying. The one liner of Mahesh Babu in ‘Pokiri’ ‘Epudochhamannadi kadanna bullettu diginda leda’ translated as when we arrive is immaterial, but whether the purpose is attained or not is important, is a clear depiction of Arundhathi’s grand success that has wonderstruck the people of trade circle.

Being in the production stage for a long time and later delays in the release date evoked unethical comments from the crowd. But, on the very first day of release, unanimous hit talk clouded the movie. Collections literally started raining for the traders and it started breaking box office records constantly.

This graphical extravaganza featuring the three main characters Jejamma, Pashupathi and Fakeer raked in moolah creating a wave in all the centers. Till now, reportedly the film has collected average revenue of 30 crores. In a center like Nellore, ‘Arundhathi’ garnered about 1 crore and 80 lakhs while a star hero’s film is being said to collect about one crore at the most. The days that followed after the release date has been depicting the film’s potential in the market by continuing its good run.

The long prevailed misconception that great commercial hits happen only based on popular star cast has been shattered by ‘Arundhathi’ which has changed the opinion. It is being expected to recreate records, set by films in the 76 years of Telugu cinema. All credit goes to the entire team of ‘Arundhathi’ for their meticulous work and for producer Shyam Prasad who has confidently ventured in with the project.

'16 Days' starring Charmme, Aravind in the cast has been directed by Prabhu Solmon. Produced on Cosmos Entertainments banner, producers P.Maheshbabu and 'Mana' Chowdary have joined together for this endeavor. The film is also being made simultaneously in Tamil titled ‘Laadam’.

Based on a novel plot, the story revolves around a guy and a girl named Angel. The narration takes place in real time which spans over for 16 days. Caught amidst a group of baddies, the protagonist is set a mission to kill the opposition side within 16 days. If he fails, he will be killed at the end of the given time period.

Latest reports say that the movie will be released through Kad Entertainments and Suresh Productions in overseas market.

Kantha Rao’s distress call answered by Chief Minister

Teja to direct Venkatesh

Her career took a turn after the blockbuster hit of 2007 ‘Happy Days’. She is an astute actress who does the balancing act slickly between performance and glamour roles. Her latest in Telugu will be ‘Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam’ starring Siddharth, Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna. On a breezy evening, the actress had a chit-chat sharing her experience working for ‘KIKK’.

What do you feel about the way you career is shaping up?

‘Shri’ was my first film in Telugu. After that, I did a few films in Tamil. After ‘Shri’, ‘Happy Days’ was my second film in Telugu. For me, ‘Happy Days’ was a huge turner in my career. It became the biggest hit of year 2007. I did ‘Kalidasu’ and now coming up with ‘KIKK’. Bujji is producing the film and is directed by debutant Kishore. The film has shaped up really well.

How will your character be in ‘KIKK’ compared to ‘Happy Days’?

I think most of the people know Madhu from ‘Happy Days’ who is a studios and outgoing character. But, Kani of ‘KIKK’ is vice versa. She comes from a village background and is not so chirpy or jubilant. She underplays her emotions and a person who won’t willfully express herself out. I had a hard time to enact such an underplayed role compared to extroverted character of mine in ‘Happy Days’.

How did you get the opportunity for ‘KIKK’?

Seeing my performance in ‘Happy Days’, the makers approached me for this role. The first time I heard the script, I was very much interested in it. I felt this would be the kind of movie I should do after ‘Happy Days’. After watching the movie ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’, I had a crush on Siddarth and felt like doing such a love story with him. It was a nice experience working with in the sets. We shared a good rapport.Once the film got completed, I watched it and was completely awed by the end product. The movie has shaped up really well.

How is director Kishore’s work?

The film even though a love story, has a lot of intense, emotional scenes that requires skilled performance. I had difficulty in enacting at certain instances and was unable to deliver. But, director Kishore invested immense faith on me and offered guidance to bring out the emotion from me. He’s a very patient filmmaker who teaches you the nuance of acting at every point. I was able to do a crucial sequence before the interval with his tips. He also provided me the dialogues beforehand which helped me a lot. Even though it’s his debut film, I never felt it that way while working along with him. I had the opportunity to learn things from him. In my view, I feel e will become the best director of Tollywood in 2009.

How was it working with Siddhardh?

Everyone knows that Siddharth is one of the best actors in town. When we act beside him, he will not compromise and start pushing you to compete with his level. He is a versatile actor who also concentrates on his co-actors performance. He won’t leave you to figure things out on your own but help you accomplish it. Apart from acting, Siddharth also has a keen interest in other aspects of film making and improvise himself constantly. I learnt the nuances of acting while working alongside with him.

What do you feel about working for a prestigious banner?

Producer Bujji is the important person in our crew and he trusted the script completely. He also ensures that the cast is comfortable while working for the film. During the first few days of shoot, he personally visited the shooting spot and enquired about me being comfortable with the crew and in the sets. I respect him for his attitude. He is also an able producer who rendered hits like ‘Aadi’ and ‘Lakshmi’. He selects quality subjects which will reach the masses to become hits. With such a reputation, I feel ‘KIKK’ will be one more feather in his cap.

How is the musical score composed by Shankar –Ehsaan – Loy?

The musical trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy are one of the best in Bollywood who composed favorites like ‘Dil Chata Hai’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Rock On’ and so on. The music was loved by everyone including me and was trendsetters in the industry. I hope they make some mellifluous tunes for Telugu industry too. My favorite song is ‘Egire Egire’ which is based as an inspiration for freedom among people. ‘Abachaa’ is a teaser song while ‘Evude Subramaniam’, ‘Anandhama’ gives varied tunes for different tastes. Apart from ‘Entha Siddhanga Unnadhi’- a fast beat song, all others were filmed in natural locales. I am sure people will enjoy this honest love story filled with drama and emotions. I am enacting roles with a view to cope up with what audience expect of me and entertain them.

What do you feel about the cinematography?

The director of photography in ‘KIKK’ is Vijay Chakravarthy, who worked earlier for the hit film ‘Bommarillu’. Camera plays a crucial role in ‘KIKK’ as it’s a love story and has a lot of emotional sequences on screen. I personally feel he has done a perfect job and has bought out the emotions perfectly. His work immensely contributes for the film’s success.

How is your Telugu language now?

I am not completely fluent with Telugu, yet I have been learning to speak it properly. During the audio launch function, I spoke a few lines on stage. My make-up man Chakravarthy has been teaching me the language in the sets. In my next interview, I wish to speak fluently in Telugu for the viewers.

How did you undergo the makeover from glamour roles to subtle ones?

I didn’t have a mindset of my career before landing in the industry. Once I started acting, I was choosy about selecting the proper roles which offers variety. First, I got the offer for ‘Happy Days’ followed by ‘Kallori’ directed by Balaji Sakthivel in Tamil. Both these films gave me enough space to perform and mark myself onscreen. I feel very lucky to be roped in for such good projects which are crucial for a star’s career. For heroines, seldom characters like these come their way. I am also enacting a challenging role in the Tamil films ‘Anandha Thandavam’ and ‘Ayan’. I don’t wish to see myself stagnant and constrained. I want to experiment with roles and feel happy to enact all kinds. I wish to satisfy my the audience by entertaining with varied performances.

Do you have a dream role?

I had a dream role earlier. When I saw the movie ‘Jab We meet’ starring Shahid Kapur and Kareena, I envied the actress for her doing such a jubilant role. The script was so moving and entertaining. But, I really couldn’t believe myself and was surprised when the same role came my way for the Tamil remake. The film goes to the floors in the month of March. I am sure people will be wooed by the character and I am excited about playing my dream role so early.

Do you have plans to act in Bollywood?

I am content for doing films in Telugu and Tamil. I am doing different roles here and it has given me space to perform apart from glamour. I might act in a Bollywood film if I get the call for good scripts. As of now, I have decided to render my utmost concentration for the South Indian cinema.

How do you differentiate Tollywood and Kollywood?

I don’t have any pre conceived notions about the industry. While signing a film, I only look for a good script made by a talented director. I also checklist the production house and actors with whom I will be sharing screen space with. Apart from this, I am not concerned about the language. I am comfortable in both Telugu and Tamil.

How does your family support you?

My family has been giving me their full support since I stepped into the film industry. I have traveled a long way in my career and it is really difficult for a 19 year old girl to work along with taking care of the studies. I was able to achieve this with my family by my side. If one needs to succeed, they definitely need their parents support. I am indeed lucky to have such understanding parents and I express my sincere thanks to them.

What do you look for before signing a film?

I look for few important aspects before singing up a movie. My order priority goes like first the script, director, production house and then the hero. I make decisions based on these aspects.

What is your take on glamour?

I am not against glamour. It is a perception which differs according to different people. A girl can look beautiful without wearing glamorous costumes or revealing skin. Personally, I feel if you feel you are beautiful then surely you will look beautiful too.

What is love to you?

I think love is an important part of life. Without love, our life will be cold, boring and pointless. It’s all about giving and sharing our emotions throughout the way. I am able to attaint this position in life for the love of my parents.

What are your future projects?

The upcoming movies are ‘Padikathavan’ with Dhanush, ‘Ayan’ with Surya, ‘Paiya’ with Karthi and the remake of ‘Jab We Met’ in Tamil which are my future projects. After ‘KIKK’, I am planning to take up more films in Telugu.

'Called off my project with Selvaraghavan' – Vishal

Vishal who is currently busy working for the film 'Thoranai' which is directed by Sabha Ayyapan has written in his blog that he has decided to call off his project with director Selvaraghavan.

Though no particular reason has been cited, Vishal wrote that it was a tough decision to make and justified it by saying 'I always believe in the films I take up right from day one and till the very end. I also put all my efforts into them irrespective of what the result would be at the end of it. Some kind of positive force would keep me going...but this time I felt otherwise ....wouldn't want to tell anything more. I hope to work with Selva sometime in the near future. I respect him as a director and I wish him all the best in his forthcoming movie'.

Vishal sounds very diplomatic here using the tone of a thorough professional. What really conspired for him to take a decision like this and that too with a reputed director like Selvaraghavan remains a mystery.

Speculation in the air suggests that the duration of the project might have been a concern for Vishal as Selvaraghavan is known to take at least a year to complete a film. Vishal is a rising star and that kind of timeframe might not help his career on the whole. Selvaraghavan’s ‘Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ which will have Dhanush and Andrea in lead roles however has been planned to be wrapped up fast. (Probably because it is their home production).

Atrocity case filed against actress Kavitha

A cased has been filed on politician-turned-actress Kavitha for harassment and atrocity imposed upon the house maids at her residence.

Film actress Kavitha joined the Telugu Desam Party as a member and is busy campaigning for the upcoming elections. She has hired two girls from the West Godavari District to work at her place with the assistance of Srinivas Reddy. They were working for about 5 months at her residence. Few days back, they complained to Srininvas Reddy during his visit that from past few days Kavitha and her younger daughter has been harassing them with inhumane comments based on caste.

Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam, being called with pet title 'KIKK' has released today. The film has followed a typical muhurath by releasing at 1:01 PM instead of hitting screens at regular 11 AM show. Let us see how far that muhurath worked well with this movie and what the content is.

Story:
Geeta (Tamanna) is the daughter of a big man named Subrahmanyam (Nazar) in a village. She holds great love and affection for her father. And she happens to come to city for studying in a college. She stays with Gachibowli Diwakar and his wife (Brahmanandam and Hema). She develops good rapport with Prof Rajya Lakshmi (Ramya Krishna) in her college. Siddhu (Siddarth) is the son of Prof Rajya Lakshmi who leads the life of a play boy. Siddhu lives only with his mother for many years and his father Prakash Varma (Prakash Raj) lives abroad and earns big fame and money. He returns and the son Siddhu goes close to him. The friendship between son and father stands unique and strong. Siddhu loves Geeta as a routine treat in any film. But Subrahmanyam puts a condition that he would allow his daughter to marry Siddhu only when the parents of Siddhu are united. Then the real game starts for both Siddhu and Geeta to unite the separated couple. Whether they turned successful in that attempt becomes rest of the story.

Performances:
The film grooved in all major artistes and there is nothing less to speak about them.

Siddartha with his unique style of performance enticed again. Tamanna looked with lot of grace and beauty and has really stolen the show with her looks and expressions. She can stand as Madhuri Dixit in Tollywood if polished her performance and dance in a better way. She is gifted with elegance in screen presence.

Ramya Krishna is ok but she would have given own dubbing for her character. The voice used for her hasn't suited. Being a senior actress, she should at least try to use her own voice inspiring from young artistes like Mamata Mohandas.

Prakash Raj did his best in fatherly role and it is completely different from what he has shown in Bommarillu.

Music stands on the top of all faculties. All the songs received great applause in theatre. It is true that songs could pull the narration of this flick in interesting way. The screenplay is slow and there are some hiccups in editing. The cinematography is marvelous and the film teaches a lesson how the mood can be elevated while picturing songs. Dialogues by Abburi Ravi are good and interesting.

Direction is good but still needs to be gripping. On a whole seriousness and sentiment dominated. Comedy by Brahmanandam hasn't given the punch that has promised at the introduction of his role.

Analysis:
The film is an out and out family entertainer and the main essence is how a young couple attempts to unite a separated old couple for making their love win and take to the altar of marriage. The theme is in fact interesting. The initial few minutes during titles recall the film 'Sangamam' but later things proved to be unique.

First half sounded average while the later half in second part sounded racy and better. On a whole it has got the class-content and teaches a moral 'keep only love and shun anger from relationships'. That's good attempt which deserves a mention.

One really wishes that separating couples just with mere ego would learn lesson from this film.

His latest movie due for release this month is 'Sathyameva Jayathe'. On this occasion, he gave an interview to the media sharing his past, present and future.

Tell us about your upcoming movie 'Satyameva Jayathe'

From the start when the thought of making this movie came to my mind till the completion, it took us two years. Along with me, Jeevitha and our whole crew had worked hard to bring out 'Satyameva Jayathe' on high standards. The end product has been churned out perfectly as we expected. After watching the rushes, the strain we underwent to make the film vanished as it immensely satisfied us.

How is the response received for the audio?

The response is very good. ‘S’ FM is promoting the music. We are getting positive reviews from other media also. Mostly, rating for the album ranges between 3.5 to 4.

What do you feel about Saikumar coming back to dub for you?

After ‘Ma Aayana Bangaram’, Saikumar stopped dubbing for me. He began voicing again for me with 'Evaraithe Nakenti', 'Gorintaku' and now 'Sathyameva Jayathe'. After finishing dubbing works, he said, “Raj, you have portrayed 'Ankusham', 'Agraham' & 'Magadu' in one go.” I was filled with happiness. Critics and film people after watching the film said, it’s like ‘Ankusham’. I am confident that the movie will satisfy audiences’ expectation by every means and will appease every one.

Has the Hindi 'Khaki' served as an inspiration for this film?

The basic story line may resemble the movie. But, we have completely altered the story and screenplay in ‘Satyameva Jayathe’. You will find some more new characters in Telugu which will not be found in Hindi and it will suit our audiences’ taste.

What is the main concept?

At present, terrorism is the menacing threat to our society. Similarly, the political system is not proper and dismantled. We have delved into such social issues and framed the storyline.

The widespread talk in industry states that this is a political satire. What is your take on this comment?

Even though, widespread talk is on, the film for sure is not a political satire. No political parties will be mentioned directly or indirectly in the film. We earlier did 'Evadaithe Naakenti' which was a satire on political issues and why would we reiterate the same subject.

What topic have you prioritized in this film?

We have checked the tag 'Police is the first judge' for our film. Basically, we wanted to convey that every sincere and responsible person in the service line, be it a police or an administrator, will be capable enough to perceive and do the right thing at the instance of a crime. That is the right way to deal with issues like terrorism. The story is based on these current issues that prevail in our country.

Tell us about your characterization?

My character is of a Deputy Commissioner of Police, a senior officer responsible for peace and order in the city. Most of the prominent part of the cast has been designed along with story including my role which carries the script forward. Milind Soman is playing a terrorist. Sheril, Sanjana, Neethu Chandra, Shivaji, Saikiran are playing other important characters.

What are the things are you trying to convey through this film?

Present scenario in our society and the kind of changes we need to bring in; is the base for us in this film. Social responsibility is not reserved only for the police but any other officer with the capacity to overlook these problems with courage and determination could eradicate terrorism and corruption, is the message conveyed. We have showcased this theme with the film to the audience.

We heard that you have behaved harshly with one of the heroines. Any comments?

The propaganda is completely baseless. For her sake, we requested other artists to continue with the shooting even without proper call sheet. In my entire career, I have never behaved harsh towards any heroine and even Jeevitha says that I stay aloof even while playing romantic scenes. So, why would I behave harsh with a woman. I warned her once because she was not on time and left the sets spoiling so many people’s work without any contact.

What is special about your birthday this year? How do you feel about your career through all these years, when you look upon and analyze it?

My career in film industry started around 1984. I have been in cinema for 24 years now. People who watched 'Satyameva Jayathe' said you are looking the same way as you were in 'Ankusham' which made me feel happy. As far as my career goes, I am very happy with it. Especially, I would like to convey my thanks to the viewers through media. It’s for their support that I am in this status now. I came to this industry with a dream to attain this stage and now after achieving it, it makes me feel contented.

What was your memorable experience during last year’s birthday?

I had a memorable experience last year. On 28th January last year, our family encountered an attack and in wake of it, people showed their sympathy and support for us. Later, on my birthday on 4th Feb, most of the fans gathered to greet me. It was the most memorable experience in my life.

How confident are you about 'Satyameva Jayathe'?

The success of 'Evadaithe Naakenti' gave me a boost. 'Gorintaku' is one more addition which had me moving on. Now, I am very much confident on the success of 'Satyameva Jayathe', and this will give me be an energizing tonic for my future ventures.

How do you see a success or failure?

Success has never made feel proud that I am very special. Same way, I will not budge and lose myself for failed attempts. I won’t indulge myself to hurt someone and also don’t want myself to be hurt either. Of course, I do express my feelings without concealing them within me. The reason to keep your heart clean and guilt free, you need to spill-out your emotions.

Have you taken a resolution for this birthday?

I have taken a resolution but it’s because of my birthday. It’s for my beloved daughter. I am a doctor basically and now had become an actor. Even though, I love both my professions I didn’t practice my former for awhile now. A few days back, my daughter came to me and said she had an argument with her teacher. The teacher had said, your father is an actor and cannot prescribe medicine even though he’s a doctor. My daughter then asked me to come with her to the school and inject the teacher for confirmation (laughs). So, from now on I have decided to practice my former profession atleast once in a week.

Do you have plans to contest in the elections as you have ventured into politics now?

Yes, I agree that I have come into politics, but presently I am not 100 per cent eligible to contest in the elections. I believe that Jeevitha is an able person for the contention.

What did you experience while making 'Satyameva Jayathe'?

From this film, I have learnt the hardships of being a producer. For making this one film, we have worked as much as for four films. I am confident that this our hard work sure not go in vain. We all believe that our success will be 100 percent.

What is your opinion on groupism in industry?

I guess you mean to say about the groups in industry based on political support. Forming groups prevails in all other fields not only in film industry. Cinema is in the limelight and news spreads like wildfire to the media. Anyway, I am not completely knowledgeable about the groupism activities and don’t indulge in them. I am aware about myself, my family and my profession. That’s all.

How did you feel when Pawan Kalyan asked you to learn Telugu?

I speak Telugu this way and it won’t change. I can’t learn now nor would it suit my age. Please don’t bother me about it. But, with whatever I know I rendered the story and screenplay for 'Evadiathe Naakenti' which was a success. Again, now I have written the dialogues and screenplay for 'Satyameva Jayathe'. I am sure it will be a hit. I challenge Pawan Kalyan to write dialogues or script for a cinema like I do. Does he think that I have no knowledge of Telugu let him come for a debate we will see who wins (laughs).

How was the experience acting in the direction of your wife Jeevitha?

It was a wonderful experience. If we want to earn money we just have to allow Jeevitha into direction. She has wonderfully filmed 'Satyameva Jayathe'. To be frank, she is just great and I have a minus point that is I do usually flair-up, but she doesn't have any such but just cool. She is a good decision maker. She always thinks with compassionately and makes the right kind of decisions. Therefore, when ever I want to help someone I pass the idea to her.

We know that on every birthday you help in some way. What is it you have planned this time?

Post production works of 'Satyameva Jayathe' are going on. Re-recording is complete and final mixing is in progress at Chennai. Accompanied by Jeevitha, I will be going to Chennai to finish these works. So, we will celebrate this birthday with my parents and other members of my family. After returning from the trip, we have planned to visit the places affected by Fluorosis, like Warangal, Raghunathapalli and Koduru. We will give away Rupees One lakh towards setting up of a water purifying equipment.

You have ruled out the question of contesting the elections by saying that you are not eligible for it now. Will your wife Jeevitha whom you said is eligible will contest?

We have not yet decided on this yet. Presently, our focus in on the movie, once it gets released we will make further moves.

Tell us about your future projects.

I am acting in 'Na Style veru'. It is a different kind of stylish movie. Surely, it will attract all strata of viewers.

The leading damsel in South Indian cinema Shriya Saran plays the female lead in the extravagantly made ‘Mallanna’ starring Vikram. Directed by Susi Ganesan, Kalapuli S. Dhanu is producing the film on a high budget.

Based on a fantasy plot, Vikram plays the Indian superhero and Shriya’s role is yet to be out. After spending about two years in the making, the crew is now busy filming the songs in exquisite foreign locations. For rendering the songs a grandiose effect, the makers are thriving for every aspect including the main lead’s costumes.

The costume designers after lengthy discussions decided upon a costume worth 30 lakhs and jewelry worth 6 crores for Shriya which they felt will be apt (!) to bring in the desired effect. With the producers consent, the costumes were made ready and the jewel set was rented for an amount of 5 lakhs on a daily basis. The song was canned in Italy and the estimated budget for the single song itself is one and a half crores, says Reuters.

If one song costs this much, one can imagine what the total budget might be…

Red card for Nayan

Nayantara has found herself in a spot of bother as the Tamil Film Producers Council and the South India Film Actors Association on Wednesday issued on her a red card meaning she can't be part of any projects in Tamil unless further announcement from the council.

The decision was arrived at a joint meeting of the two bodies. The action has been taken against the actress following a complaint lodged by Subash Chandra Bose, the producer of Paiyya, a film being directed by Lingusamy. Nayantara was supposed to play the female lead in the film opposite 'Paruthiveeran' Karthi.

The very news of Nayantara being booked for the film at a whopping remuneration of Rs one crore created flutter in Kollywood. However, the excitement did not last long as the producers citing global economic meltdown urged her to waive off a part of her salary.

However, it resulted in allegations and counter allegations. Eventually, Nayantara was shown the exit door from the project and she was replaced by Tamannah. Shooting for the movie began recently at Bangalore.

Meanwhile the issue took a turn as the producer formally lodged a complaint with Producers Council alleging that the actress had not returned the advance paid to her.

A statement issued by the Producers Council after the joint meeting said the actress did not pay any heed to the requests that the advance be repaid. Hence, the council had issued a directive to its members not to cast Nayantara in their films with immediate effect.

The council also said it would hold discussions with the producers councils of other languages not to rope in Nayantara for their projects.

It is to be noted that Nayantara is acting in a Malayalam film Bodyguard with Dileep and a Telugu movie opposite NTR Junior. She is tipped to be the heroine of Surya starrer in Tamil titled Aadhavan to be directed by K S Ravikumar.

A glimpse into the glorious days of past in Telugu Cinema, will remind us of the most celebrated heroes like NTR, ANR, SVR among which Kantha Rao is one more name to behold.

Kantha Rao is one of those top heroes who debuted to the screen around 1951. He is popular for his memorable portrayal in folk, mythological and social themed films. His long list of credit goes to films like ‘Jayasimha’, ‘Bhatti’ ‘Vikramarka’, ‘Usha Parinayam’, ‘Pandava Vanavasam’, ‘Bhishma’, ‘Yedureetha’, ‘Lava Kusha’ and many more with the latest being ‘Shankar Dada Zindabad’.

For his many years of contribution, he should be honored with awards and provided support by the association. But, he was not felicitated with any awards except for a Nandi Award for his autobiography. His plight is near demise as he suffers from cancer and no one seems to be lending a helping hand for the senior actor.

In the recent past Movie Artists Association (MAA) sponsored seventy thousand rupees, and later refrained itself from further contacts. Kantha Rao’s health condition has deteriorated to alarming level and he’s completely bed ridden now. People from MAA who refer to themselves as a family didn’t make any efforts to help him so far. Till now, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Murali Mohan, Dasari Padma, Jamuna are the people who met him in the hospital to ameliorate his sufferings.

Merged in their own job, the association is busy to heed ears for the grievance of their senior co-star. Better late than ever, it will be a noble move if the people delve into this issue to do the needful help and sustain their respect in the industry.

Ali's film christened 'Nachav Alludu'

Starring Ali and Suprena in the lead cast, director MS Srichand debuts with the film ‘Nachav Alludu’ produced by Usha Singh Shetty on Sri Sai Durga Arts banner.

The crew was on a foreign tour earlier and canned two songs featuring Ali, Suprena, Ravi Babu and Malishka. One more song was filmed at Hyderabad recently.

After mulling over many titles, ‘Nachav Alludu’ has been officially confirmed this comedy entertainer which was announced in a press meet held by the makers. Ali, Khayyum, Srichand, Usha Singam Reddy and others participated in the meet.

'Outlander' to release on Feb 13

The Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada versions of the Hollywood film 'Outlander' is all set to release on the 13th of February. COO of Sun Pictures, Sax has revealed the news that Sun Productions will be distributing the film in all languages including English all over South India which is expected to do very well in India. For the first time, Sun Pictures is venturing into distributing and marketing an English movie after bringing out big time hits with Tamil.

From the same producers of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, 'Outlander' is all about a space craft crashing into earth at the time of the Vikings. Two sworn enemies emerge from the wreckage – a bloodthirsty scary creature and a soldier from an alien world.

With tremendous computer generated imagery, the film has already caught the imagination of South Indians thanks to aggressive promotions by Sun Network.

Sun Pictures will also be presenting three Tamil films shortly – 'Ayan' starring Suriya and Tamanna, 'Pookada Ravi' starring Naren and 'Thee' with Sundar C.

Karunakaran to direct Prabhas’s ‘Darling’

BVSN Prasad, the producer of sensational hit ‘Chathrapathi’ starring Prabhas has once again roped in the actor for a huge budget film titled ‘Darling’. Director of 'Toli Prema', 'Ullasamga Uthsahamga’, Karunakaran will be making this film.

The earlier custom of releasing audio of films is now being accompanied by the launch function of official websites for the movie.

The website for the film ‘Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam’ starring Siddhardh, Tamanna, Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishnan was launched on 1st February at Rama Naidu studios. Actress Anushka launched the site by opening the URL in a laptop.

Speaking to the media after the event, Anushka said, “I am happy to have graced this function as a chief guest. The songs are appealing and music directors Shankar –Ehsaan –Loy have done a wonderful job.”

Producer Nallamalupu Srinivas sharing the hurdles they came across before the film shaped up, said, “At time, I had disputes with Kishore Kumar about the film’s progress but it has been made good with the end product. The film will start with afternoon shows on 5th feb and promo songs are now being aired in music channels.”

The launch function was attended by Anushka, Tamanna, Kishore Kumar and Nallamalupu Srinivas (Bujji).

Other important cast of the film includes Nazar, Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, Sudha, Hema, Karuna, Samrat and Ravali.

Prakash Raj plays for the third time as Siddhardh’s father in ‘Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam’ starring Tamanna as the lead lady while Ramya Krishnan pairs up with Prakash Raj. Directed by Kishore Kumar, the story is likely to be about a father-son and the relationship that prevails between them.

Jayant C Paranji's 'Love 4 Ever' in New Zealand

On Laughing Waters Entertainment banner, director cum producer Jayant C Paranji is making the love story bearing the plot in the title itself named 'Love 4 Ever' starring newcomers Ranadeep and Mrudula in the cast.

The maker of big time hits like 'Preminchukundam Raa', 'Bavagaru Bagunnara', 'Takkari Donga', 'Shankar Dada MBBS' 'Lakshmi Narasimha' fame, Jayant is now busy making this film which is undergoing shooting for a 34 day schedule in New Zealand. The crew has completed filming four of the songs which were choreographed by dance master Brinda in New Zealand. For now, about seventy five percent of the shooting schedules have been finished.

Briefing on the movie's progress the director said, "Unlike my earlier projects, the story of 'Love 4 Ever' is based on my own perception of love. In an effort to do justice for the subject and portray it beautifully on screen, we brought back talented cinematographer Jainan Vincent, (cousin of art director Sabu Cyril) after 7 years, who settled in Canada, to crank the camera. When we joined hands earlier, we won the Nandi award for 'Premante Idera' and 'Takkari Donga'. We will complete the shooting part in February and post-production work in March. Plans are on to release the film in summer on 9th April. The film is being made in Telugu and Hindi languages."

Music is being composed by Ram Sampath and editing is done by Marthand K Venkatesh. Anvitha and Jayant C Paranji have written the story while Raja Simha has penned the dialogues. Art director is Krishna Maya.

Gopichand’s latest starts

Director of ‘Shouryam’, Siva is coming back for a new film with Gopichand and Trisha sharing screen space for the first time. J. Bhagavan and J.Pullareddy brothers are producing the film on Sri Balaji Cine Media banner. Sans publicity, the film launch function was held on 1st February in Balaji temple.

Sentimentally, the first (Muhurtham) shot of the film was taken in the temple premises in the direction of Shiva, featuring Gopichand. Producer J.Bhagavan sounded the clap board for the scene and J.Pulla Reddy switched on the camera. Following the shot, an action scene was also canned with Gopichand, Kaatraju, Fish Venkat and 100 junior artists.

A prominent role has been entrusted to actor Sathyaraj. ‘Jeyam’ was the film in which Trisha did the lead while Gopichand played the villain. The pair is now coming together as hero and heroine on screen.

Producer J. Bhagavan announced that the first schedule which began on Feb 1st will be continued till 7th March. The crew will then camp in foreign locales from April 1st to 15th. Songs along with some of the scenes will be done in this planned schedule.

The Oscar fever has this time gripped the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ after it won the four Golden Globe awards and four Richard Attenborogh awards. The most criticized movie of contemporary time is surely ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ which is being in the news for one glib or the other. Albeit the fact that critics praise the film sky high, it is being plunged with comments by many Indians and Indian celebrities.

Director Priyadarshan said that Slumdog is not worth to be contenting for the Oscars and if selected, it means the people are not aware what world cinema is all about.

‘I had read the novel Q & A by Vikas Swaroop and the film fails to portray what it was intended to do. Maniratnam had plans to bring the script to celluloid but Danny Boyle bought it in but in a gruesome, nasty way that shows Mumbai badly and us people as low level slum dwellers.’

The wide spread comments which is also the same as of Amitabh Bachchan’s and Salman Rashdi’s is the makers feasted on marketing poverty life in India and made us look cheap on global standards.

On the flip side of the coin, magazine’s in the US and UK states a conspiracy is being hatched against the film from winning the Oscars by propagating news like the production company didn’t deliver proper remunerations for the child artists and so on. Veteran actor Nagesh passed away

Veteran actor Nagesh alias Gunddu Rao has passed away this morning on 31st January after prolonged illness. The loss is irreplaceable for the film industry for he is a man of many talents and can enact any role with ease and élan.

He became a familiar star to Telugu audience with the film 'Server Sundaram' dubbed from Tamil. His portrayal of a waiter in a restaurant who later becomes a big time movie star is plausible and wooed the masses. But, very few knew the movie was a case of life imitating art and vice versa for this great comedian who had been an underdog in his past to become a great star in the future.

'Adivi Ramudu' with NTR bought him fame followed by films like Sriranga Neethulu (ANR), Devudu Mamayya (Shobhan babu), Indradhanusu (Krishna), Tholi Prema (Pawan Kalyan), Subhakankshalu (Jagapathi Babu), Brundhavanam (Rajendra Prasad), Adavallaku Mathrame (Tamil: Magalir Mattum – role of a Dead body), Madam, Indrudu Chandrudu (Kamal Hassan), Dasavathaaram (2008) which portrayed some of his best performances on screen.

His talent and versatility in acting is evident from a speech made by Cho Ramaswamy who said, "He is not a comedian but an actor par excellence. He laid down the grammar for humor in cinema. Do not compare him with any other comedians. His path of success was made by his hard work combined with talent. He is a born actor," during the 'Sirithu Vazha Vendu' - Memoirs of actor Nagesh, book release function on August 2005.

With a Himayalan record of over 1000 films in his career span of more than five decades, Nagesh inspired people with his disparate body language, timing comedy and intonation which created uproar. It’s not exaggerating if said the only comedian who also sheens in character roles is Nagesh who will be reigning for the time to come.

The talented actor is survived by his wife and three sons. We offer our condolence for his beloved and pay tribute for the artist’s immense contribution to cinema.

Nagesh: A legacy like no other

The fifties, sixties and the early seventies are considered by many as the Golden Age of Tamil Cinema. The era had everything in it to entertain the masses. Moreover actors and actresses were not expected to reinvent themselves much because the general movie-going - public expected them to be doing what they do best on screen. Every established actor or technician proved to be towering personalities and were simply loved by the masses. That was an era when everything fell in place as far as the film world was concerned….with benevolence and fun.

MGR and Sivaji Ganesan were obviously the Kings of the time. The likes of M. N. Nambiyar and Asokan terrorized audiences with villous performances. The stage was absolutely set for a talented 'funny' man like Nagesh. Not a single big film released without the services of Nagesh. Though there were other talented comedians like Chandrababu and Thangavelu at the time, it was clear from box office collections that Nagesh ruled the hearts of movie lovers.

Snapshots into the eventful career of Nagesh spell out absolute brilliance. A role that went down as probably the best comic fare in Tamil Cinema featured in the film 'Thiruvilayadal' (1965). Who can forget the interaction between Nagesh and thespian Sivaji Ganesan? Nagesh as a struggling poet gets divine intervention from Lord Siva (Sivaji Ganesan) and presents the work to the King of the land. The court poet dismisses the poem as having errors in it. The distraught poet (with obvious lure for money) is disappointed big time and reports the happenings to Lord Siva. An outraged Siva debates with the court poet.

Nagesh as the poet sparkled in every shot bringing the roof down with laughter. These are scenes that are hugely popular even with the kids of the 21st century.

As a young boy Nagesh reportedly ran away from home telling his folks that he'd return as a 'big guy'. Nobody took these words seriously. He came over to Chennai and started performing in a theater troupe 'Ragini Drama Troupe' until he was noticed by director Sridhar who cast him in 'Nenjil Oru Aalayam' in which he played the role of a ward boy.

Gradually this thin man with exceptional talent was noticed and was cast in many films. One of the directors who made it a point to work with Nagesh in many of his films was none other than K. Balachander.

The roles Nagesh enacted in 'Server Sundaram' (1964), 'Kadhalikka Neramillai' (1964), 'Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum' (1965), and 'Anbe Vaa' (1966) were all massive successes that were talked about a lot. In 'Server Sundaram' Nagesh played a person who serves at a restaurant but then had dreams to make it big as a film star. Ironically though, his dream materializes. Here was a performance that made the whole of Tamilnadu sit up and take note. The thin funny man had entered the hearts and minds of people indelibly. In 'Anbe Vaa', Nagesh played the role enacted by Walter Slezak in the English classic 'Come September' (Anbe Vaa was an inspired version of Come September in patches). The mastery of Slezak was matched by Nagesh in all respects. (Nagesh played the caretaker of a palatial mansion who rents it out as a hotel in the absence of the owner). The combination scenes that involved MGR and Nagesh were outstanding and oozing with fun.

Nagesh had a long screen association with the Guinness Record holder Manorama and Kumari Sachu. Comedy in the form of dialogue, slapstick and situational humor was explored in many many movies.

The Nagesh – Manorama combination sizzled the screen in movies such as 'Nenjil Nindraval', 'Galatta Kalayanam' and 'Anubhavi Raja Anubhavi' (a song sequence in this film 'Muthukullika Vaareegala' featuring Nagesh and Manorama became a smash hit).

Nagesh prevailed in the industry even after the heydays of MGR and Sivaji Ganesan were over. It was about this time that Nagesh acted in films such as 'Aboorva Raagangal' and 'Sila Nerangalil Sila Manithargal'. The film industry was changing shape and Nagesh was unassailable with his brilliance.

In the 1980s Nagesh acted in films such as 'Thillu Mullu', 'Kadal Meengal', 'Padikkathavan' etc. It was in this period that Nagesh was cast in more serious roles. In a major surprise move Nagesh was cast as a villain in the Kamal Haasan starrer 'Aboorva Sagodharargal'. A spectacular performance form Nagesh in 'Michael Madana Kamarajan' was followed by a beautiful portrayal of a dead boy (Nagesh won rave reviews for this) in the film 'Magalir Mattum'.

Nagesh's association with Kamal Haasan was very fruitful and films like 'Nammavar', 'Avvai Shanmugi', 'Panchathanthiram' etc bear testimony to that.

Nagesh also has the credential of acting with the present generation of actors. With Madhavan (Minnale), Dhanush (Kadhal Kondaein) and Simbu (Saravana) and many more.

The film that saw Kamal Haasan in ten different roles 'Dasavatharam' was Nagesh's last film.

An eventful career like no other. Let's salute the genius that Nagesh was….after all who can forget this thin man with funny looks striding about making people laugh.

A lifetime of making people laugh is over….or is it? Nagesh will continue to make people laugh and get enamored with his performances every time his films are telecast on television and projected in movie theaters. The legacy of Nagesh will live on….

Director Srivaas ropes in Ram

The award winning film ‘Lakshayam’ gave a big break for director Srivaas who debuted with the film and won the prestigious Nandi Award for the Third Best Film.

Latest buzz is he is all planned to direct a film casting Ram in the lead. ‘Dil’ Raju, the busiest producer in town will make this film on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. The script is under work and will be developed in time. The female lead for the movie is yet to be finalized. The other cast and crew is also pending for now.

‘Maska’ the super duper hit of Sankranthi has boosted Ram’s image who has signed up for this new project in the direction of talented director Srivaas.

‘Dil’ Raju is at present making a film starring Nagarjuna’s son, NagChaithanya and Krithika in the lead cast. Once he is through the work of the movie, he will begin the venture with Ram and Srivaas. Sireesh and Lakshman will be working as co-producers for this film.

Adinetha's first schedule done

Sri Sathya Sai Arts production ‘Adinetha’ featuring Jagapathi Babu in the main cast is being directed by hit maker V. Samudra. A NRI SadaSivuni Ravi from New Jersey is presenting this high budget film which is being produced by KK Mohan. The film is through with the first phase of shooting on 31st January.

Enumerating the media on the schedules done, director Samudra said, “During this schedule, we have canned a song in Bhadrachalam temple, heroine’s intro song in the backdrop of Godavari, Jagapthi Babu’s first fight scenes and some talkie portions in the village locales. 'My Name is Amrutha' in February

The title speaks for itself in the film ‘My Name is Amrutha’ starring Baby Gayathri in the title role. The main cast consists of Keerthi, Bhanu Priya and Bhanu Chandar. The film is being produced by Venkat Gauni on S. Entertainment Tax banner. Debutant director Anthony is making the film which is based on the emotional trauma of a child named Amrutha.

Sushanth's 'Current' at the end of 3rd schedule

'Current' gets ready to electrify this summer

The not-so-gracious beauty now, Gracy Singh will be seen once again in Telugu screens shortly. Not so long ago, she was the famous naïve beauty Gauri in the Oscar nominated ‘Lagaan’ starring Aamir Khan in the main cast. She was also the one in ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and rode high on the success cloud. But, mother nature has drained the beauty of Gracy and she’s quite heavy now.

Gracy is now reverting back to Tollywood in a small budget film in the direction of SK Bashid alongside Abbas. Titled as ‘Ramdev’, the movie launch took place on 29th January. She earlier enacted the lead roles in the super hit films ‘Santosham’ and Mohan Babu’s ‘Appu Chesi Pappukudu’. A nudging factor is the newly launched film is being produced by a tarnished maker who earlier was accused of fraudulent activities in the film ‘Allare Allari’. Balakrishna campaigns in Ananthapuram

As a part of the routine campaign, star hero Balakrishna visited Ananthapuram during the trip scheduled for three days in and around the locales. He arrived at the location on 29th morning and cruise the area. Later, in the afternoon around 3.00 pm, he addressed a large gathering at Hindhupur.

The leader was warmly welcomed by the party activists and other leaders who were all elated with joy during the visit.

Ram Dev: The triangular love story

The triangular love story ‘Ram Dev’ directed by SK Basheed starring Abbas, Akash, Saikiran, Gracy Singh and Archana in the cast is being produced by SK Kareemunnisa on SBK Films PVT Ltd. The makers arranged a press meet in the location where the shooting is currently in progress.

During the meet, SK Basheed said, “Ram Dev was launched on 19th and the shooting schedule will continue till 11th next month without any break. The film will be canned within the schedules in February and March. The release date will be confirmed in the month of May.”

‘Based on an off-beat triangular love story, the film stars Abbas in the role of Ram and Akash as Dev. Saikiran is trusted a negative role which poses a stylish caricature. The star of ‘Santhosham’, Gracy Singh is reverting back to Tollywood with this film. Archana does an interesting demeanor with a glamorous touch.’

Music for ‘Ram Dev’ is being composed by MM Sreelekha. The album has about seven songs in them and the makers have planned to film four of them in Australia.

Other important cast has Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Sangeetha, Kavitha, Manjubhargavi, Hema and Ali. Cinematography is by Vijaya Sri and the film is being presented by S.K.Abdulla.

‘Srisailam’ releases Jan 31st

‘Srisailam’ starring Srihari as hero has been directed by KS Nageswara Rao. Produced by Tadivaka Ramesh Naidu on Image Films banner, the film is getting released on January 31st.

The plot of ‘Srisailam’ is set in a college atmosphere where the undercurrent of terrorism prevails and countering terrorism by drastic measures. The movie is an action oriented flick which has abundant elements to entertain the youth and also poses some messages at the end. Close in the line of hits like ‘Police’, ‘Deva’ and ‘Sambaiah’, Srihari and KS Nageswara Rao are coming together once again which is expected to reap success as their earlier ventures.

Srihari enacts the title role of ‘Srisailam’ through which he promises to deliver entertainment on par with his hits like ‘Dhee’ and ‘King’. The special cameo played by Krishnam Raju and Nagababu will go well along the masses, as per the makers.

After a successful outing in 'Homam', director JD Chakravarthy is coming back with 'Siddham' said to be a sequel starring Jagapathi Babu and Sindhu Menon in the main cast. It has been produced by Koneru Kiran Kumar on Shreya Productions banner.

The plot is about an episode in a cop's life which is based on real life police men Dayanayak and PSR Anjaneyulu. Speaking to the media, JD said, "Jagapathi Babu enacts the role of a vigilant and valorous cop who doesn't refrain from encounter if need arises. He's of the view that 'A doctor medicates…an engineer builds and I am to Kill', which is for justice."

Disparate from the usual cop stories, in 'Siddham' the police officer doesn't have any personal vengeance but only for his job against the criminals. Interestingly, there are no songs in this film to maintain the fast pace all along.

Sindhu Menon who plays the female lead has a lot of scope to perform. The message conveyed by 'Siddham' is it might be easy to face death but not to take life out of someone. We have one more cop story ready to encounter the screens this February.

'House Full' fills houses on 14th

'Gamyam' Krish embarks on new journey

The man behind the success of 'Gamyam', Krish (Radhakrishna) is gearing up to begin a new journey in the form of his second film. The critically acclaimed debutant director was to direct Venkatesh for the film 'Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum' (tentatively titled).

Rajashekar clarifies at 'Sathyameva Jayathe' audio

'Sathyameva Jayathe', the film that stars Dr. Rajashekar had its music album released on the 28th of this month and the occasion also paved the way for the hero of the film to clarify about the Nithu Chandra episode in which he was charged of manhandling the actress.

Speaking about the Nithu Chandra episode, the actor said, 'on the final day of shooting she switched off her mobile phone and went off to her room to rest. That is not how a professional behaves. So I went there and warned her. I even told her that if she has this 'attitude' I'd ensure that she cannot act in any South Indian film. We spent over six Crores for making this film and this kind of behavior is simply unacceptable'.

'Once she went to Mumbai, she lied about the entire incident. I am a father of two girls and would I behave in such a way as she has claimed?' he questioned.

The actor further added that he has never ever raised his hand at any woman. 'I have never been violent to any man as well' he said. 'I was busy shooting and that is why I didn't clarify all these days'.

Jeevitha on her part said, 'each and every technician and artist has put in a lot of hard work for this film. That is why we wanted to release the music album along with everybody. Everybody has recognized me as an able director now. I wholeheartedly want to thank Rajashekar garu for giving me the opportunity'.
